- Fold the paper: draw the original plan on the left and a backup on the right.
- Add two safe activities to each side.
- Choose one warning sign that means stop and get an adult.
What may feel scary or confusing
A child may remember only that rainwater is always safe for play. Separate the story from real rules: avoid drains, roads, fast water, and thunderstorms.
For adults: leave room for the child's view
Do not insist that disappointment disappear at once. Acknowledge the feeling first, then make a new plan when the child is ready.
