The Bat and the Weasels

A bat, flying carelessly, caught his wing on a branch and tumbled to the ground right in front of a weasel who hated birds more than anything.

The weasel growled, "You're a bird, aren't you? I'll eat you!" Thinking fast, the bat replied, "I'm a mouse, not a bird." So the weasel let him go.

Not long after, the bat stumbled and fell again — this time right in front of another weasel, one who hated mice more than anything.

This weasel demanded, "You're a mouse, aren't you? I'll eat you!" The bat quickly replied, "I'm a bird, not a mouse." Confused, the weasel let him go again.

The bat escaped danger both times through quick thinking, learning that noticing the situation and adapting wisely is the smartest way through a tricky moment.

Being clever enough to adapt to each situation can carry us safely through danger.
