The Flamingo Who Lost Her Color

By a lakeside lived a flamingo with the brightest pink feathers in her whole flock. Everyone admired her beautiful color.

One day, a friend accidentally bumped into her and spilled all her food. She grew so angry that she refused to speak to her friend ever again.

The longer she held onto her anger, the more her bright pink feathers faded into a dull gray. Her flock grew worried, wondering what had happened to her.

The wise old owl who lived by the lake told her, "A flamingo's pink comes from the happiness in her heart. If you keep holding onto anger, your color will never return." So she decided to walk over and talk to her friend, and to forgive.

The moment she forgave her friend with all her heart, her feathers slowly turned bright pink again. She learned that forgiveness always makes the heart feel lighter and brighter.

Holding onto anger without forgiving dulls the heart, but forgiveness always brings its brightness back.
