The little village of forest animals grew more worried by the day. Heavy rain had fallen without stopping for many days, and water began flooding the vegetable gardens and seeping into many families' burrows.

A small bird with drenched feathers huddles under a large leaf, crying with a hopeless expression. Rain pours down heavily around it and water is pooling on the ground at the base of the tree.

A young bird cried in despair, certain the sun would never return and that everything was ruined forever.

An old tortoise with a weathered, patterned shell stands calmly among a group of rain-soaked forest animals, speaking reassuringly. Rain still pours heavily and leaves swirl in the wind.

The village's wise old tortoise comforted everyone, reminding them that every great storm within memory had always passed eventually, and that a beautiful rainbow always followed.

A group of rain-soaked forest animals bail water from a burrow entrance using large leaves and bark, while others build a small mud barrier to protect young seedlings from the unceasing rain.

So the whole village worked together, bailing water out of their burrows and shielding young seedlings so they wouldn't wash away. Even as the rain kept falling, every animal held onto hope.
